Valentine’s Day Simple Glam Look | 2018

Hello beauties, Chicago’s currently having a snow day today, we are expected to have a foot of snow by tonight, I love snow so this is pretty great. Since there is a snow day today, I decided to take advantage of the day and work on today’s blog post and a few other ones! For today’s post I will be showing you a Simple Glam Valentine’s Day Makeup Look, (as a disclaimer I am not a makeup artist or anything, but I do love makeup and love to share my creativity with all of you). I hope this post gives you ideas for Valentine’s Day makeup, I kept today’s post shorter and I will also link down all the products I used down below.

Products Used:

Close-up of the Modern Renaissance.

1st Step: To start off, I use the shade Buon Fresco as my transition color, using my Luxie 205 Tapered Blending brush. I blend the color to get a seamless base for my eyeshadow.

2nd Step: With the same brush I previously used before, I apply a bit of the color “Burnt Orange” into the crease.

3rd Step: With my Luxie 229 Tapered Blending brush, I apply the shade “Red Ochre” to the outermost and innermost parts of my crease, leaving the middle empty, doing this adds a bit of depth to my eyes.

4th Step: Taking my Wet n Wild Large shadow brush, I compact the shade “Love Letter”, on the center of my lid, working it into my crease. I make sure my lid is bright and fully covered. (The color really starts to pick up here).

5th Step: With the color “Venetian Red”, I use the Real Techniques Shading brush to apply along my lash line, slightly smoking it out, and to darken the outer corners of my eyes.

6th Step: Using “Venetian Red” again, I take my bh cosmetics V5 Blending brush to really blend out “Love Letter” and to make the shadow look seamless.

7th Step: Now for the shimmer, I use the dense side of the brush that comes with the Modern Renaissance and apply the color “Antique Bronze” first packing it onto the center of my lid, then taking “Vermeer” and doing the same thing, and lastly applying the shade under my brow bone to define it, and that completes the eye look!

For my face, I will not go into to much detail, since it is very similar to my Current Makeup Routine | Winter 2018, however for blush I decided to use the color “Breeze”  from the ABH Radiant Blush kit. For highlighter I used my mini Becca Rose Gold Highlighter and for my lips I used the Essence Prisma Glow Shine Lipgloss. A simple glam casual Valentine’s day makeup look.

Here is the completed Makeup look. (excuse my hair, I am just staying home all day). The shimmer also does not show up very well in this photo, so my apologies.

Beauty + Skincare Haul| Target & Lush

Happy 1st day of February or 2nd depending where you live, lovelies! Yesterday I did some shopping at Target, Lush, and Trader Joe’s for some beauty things I needed, groceries, and some things I wanted to also try out. I am so excited to try these new products, hopefully if they work out then expect to see them in a February favorites later this month! 😉

To begin with, I will be showing you what I purchased on my trip to Target. Okay so, I have been trying to find a good quality shampoo that is cruelty-free for quite a bit. I recently noticed that Target was starting to carry a new brand, “Love beauty And planet“, this brand sells shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Their products are vegan, natural, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, dyes, and silicone. Everything I want in a shampoo is in here, that is why I decided to pick up the Love beauty And planet Coconut oil & ylang ylang hope and repair shampooThe shampoo smells so beautiful, it recovers damaged hair, and I love how it is vegan, fingers crossed that it works out! IMG-0809

The next two products are both different kinds of face masks by one of my favorite brands, Yesto. Both of the masks are new to the Yesto line. The first mask I decided to get was the Yesto Triple Masking Kit: Hydrate, Detox, and RechargeThis mud mask features coconuts which hydrate, charcoal that detoxifies the skin, and blueberries which recharge the skin. What is really awesome about this mask, is how the mask is designated for different areas of the face. The other mask I purchased was the Yesto carrots vitamin-enriched kale paper mask. The sheet mask uses carrot extract which acts as a nutrition boosting element for the skin. This mask happens to be 100% vegan which is very exciting. I will also be doing a Yesto review of three different types of face masks; a sheet one, a clay one, and a triple mud masking kit, lookout for the post next week! IMG-0813

You will not believe how long I was looking for the e.lf. Mad for Matte 2 eyeshadow palette, I love the colors so much and it retails for $10, and over a year ago when I found out about the palette, I was determined to find it somehow even though it was sold out pretty much everywhere. I could not believe that after over a year looking for this, I finally found it, I was so excited, it just  made my whole Target trip. IMG-0810

My last thing from Target that I purchased was the, Thayers Witch Hazel Rose PetalFrom my nighttime skin care routine you found out how much I love this toner, but in lavender. I was eager to try the Rose Petal edition, which is why I could not resist and just had to buy it!IMG-0808

So I also went to Trader Joe’s yesterday to buy my groceries, and I decided to purchase one skin-care product. I bought the Trader Joe’s enrich moisturizing face lotion with an SPF of 15. I have been needing to get a facial cream with SPF in it, which is why I decided why not purchase this one, it also claims that it is light and non-greasy which is a win for me. It retailed for $4.00 for a four fluid oz bottle.

Okay so now onto my mini Lush haul! I cannot resist going into Lush, so I just had to pop inside! I have been wanting to check out their Valentine’s day collection, since it has been everywhere from social medias to blog posts. I fell in love with the adorable Love Boat bath bomb, it smells like a burst of floral and lemon scents, the bath bomb is only here for V-day so I figured, I would try it out before it’s gone. I also bought the cutest body scrub known as, Scrubee! I have seen so many great reviews about Scrubee 🐝, and I am obsessed with the smell of shea butters and coconut oil inside the product. This product was here only for the Mother’s day collection last year, but with the popularity of it, Lush decided to make it permanent!

Lastly, I purchased the Aqua Marina Facial and Body Cleanser, a calming calamine wash that soothes sensitive skin. I tend to use different products whenever it comes to washing my face in the morning, which is why I decided to stick to one product that I feel will work best for me. At Lush, the two workers were very sweet enough to apply Aqua Marina and Fresh Farmacy and test out which one I like better, I walked into Lush thinking I was going to get Fresh Farmacy, but I actually ended up getting Aqua Marina. I used it last night to wash my face, and my skin felt very soft and freshly cleansed, definitely happy I made this purchase. img-0812-e1517513935791.jpg

Thank you for reading, lovelies! Let me know if you have tried any of these products, and comment down any blog post ideas you want me to blog about next!  Please like and subscribe with your email in the sidebar.

Planning February 2018 Tips//Plan with Me

It seems that January is one of the longest yet quickest months, if that makes sense. As crazy as it is, February is tomorrow! Today’s post will be on some tips for the month of February and I how I plan out my month in my planner.

For starter’s, I made it a goal of mine to become more organized and have a planner with me throughout the year, so far it’s going pretty well, but this past week I was slightly slacking off. However, for the new month I am glad to pick up my routine of planning back. First, let us start with my key planning tips to provide a successful start to the new month.

Purchase a cute planner and Stationary Supplies:

  • For me personally this is a huge one, I find that have a cute planner instead of a plain old boring one will help you be more motivated to use it. I recommend the brand “Create 365: The Happy Planner” from Michael’s Craft Store they have a variety of appealing planners, and the absolute best planner stickers, but do not worry if you cannot get your hands on this one, there are many other ones out there that are just as acceptable.
  • Make it personal, decorate your planner with washi tape, make it bright and colorful with pens or markers, and put in planner stickers to help personalize your planner. I recommend heading to Michael’s, Target, or the dollar store to get cute stationery supplies for cheap.
  • If you cannot go out and buy these supplies, do not worry because you can improvise and make your own planner with what you have.

Set a least one Monthly Goal or more if you desire:

  • If you were to set one new goal at the start of the month, and have it inside of your planner as a reminder, I am positive that you will achieve that goal by the end of the month. This could be a goal that’s as small as, “read any new book” or as large as “applying for a new job”, make it your desirable goal. For example, my goal for the month of January was to “start my blog”, and look where I am now, posting my 10th blog post!
  • My monthly goal for February will be to read a new book and finish it because I never do and to also finish one whole course of my online class. This month is about finishing what I started 😉!

Create a Monthly Mantra & Theme:

  • If you are unsure what a Mantra is, it is a word/phrase/or statement repeated frequently that you establish and live through. These are incredibly important when you need to be constantly reminded of something, and I do not mean something you plan, it’s more of a reassurance statement for example a mantra that I know is popular is, “You can get through this”. Make your mantra personal, to what best suits you or what you think you need to hear often. This mantra should be throughout your planner, on a post-it note, on your phone, and even your refrigerator.
  • Onto my next point which is establishing a theme for the month. This may sound a bit silly, but having a theme for a month will help incorporate your goal and mantra into your life. I also find that when having a monthly theme, planning becomes more substantial.
  • My theme for the month of February is Love/feeling loved/loving others, shocker right. I decided since Valentine’s Day is in the middle of the month, I will have Love as my central theme of this month.

Try to have a routine of something everyday:

  • You may be thinking well, I already have a routine everyday, but what I mean is trying to bring a new habit into your life, making it a routine for at least a month. These are just a few common examples; meditation daily, working out for at least an hour each day, or even praying. These are almost like small goals to make a part of your daily routine. Mine for the month of January was to “Practice Gratitude: by stating three things each day that I am grateful for”, (credits to my amazing therapist who gave me this assignment).
  • For the month of February I will continue my Gratitude practice along with mindful journaling everyday this month (I love to journal and I recently bought a new journal with mindful prompts).

Now that I gave the run-down of my key planning tips, I hoped you gained some insight for this upcoming month! Now onto planning my month of February! 💖

What I do to first get started, is to go through the calendar on my phone, since that is where I keep all my important dates/appointment reminders. As a disclaimer, my planner is not as filled as I wanted it to be. I only planned my events in my planner calendar, hopefully for next month’s post I will show you how I plan my week.
