What I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag/// April 2018

Welcome back to my blog lovelies! I apologize for not posting last week, I have been incredibly busy, working on my online classes and thank goodness I finished one this week, I am a quarter done with my last one so hopefully by next week I will be done. Anyways, it’s already the mid of April which is pretty bizarre, but you know what that means, it’s time to unbox my Ipsy Glam Bag!

This month’s Glam bag is so spring, with a theme of being a “Social Butterfly”, hence all the unique butterflies on the bag. This month is all about saying “yes!” to all plans coming your way and to enjoy the stuff happening now. Off of a first impression, I am very pleased with this bag and I’m so excited to try everything!

Filorga Meso-Mask

This is a brand that is completely new to me, known as Filorga; is a French beauty brand based out of Paris. The “smoothing radiance mask” I received, happens to be more of a cream than an actual mask itself. I will have to check the site’s website on how to use this product since it does not state anything on the package, however it seems very good and is lightweight. I’m definitely curious to see how it works as an illuminator.

Hempz Ultra Moisturizing Herbal Lip Balm

I was probably most excited to try this from my glam bag this month, I had heard some good feedback about the product and wanted to give it a shot! Not only is the brand Hempz cruelty-free, but it’s also 100% vegan! This balm comes in a squeeze tube with a slanted edge applicator, making it easy and compact! The lip balm instantly smoothed my lips, giving them a natural glow. I love the way it smells, it has a Citrus natural blend of different oils. It moisturizes your lips keeping them hydrated with the 100% natural hemp seed oil.

Ofra Cosmetics Blush in Chameleon

This coral pop blush comes in a full size pan, giving you a lot of product. I did swatch it on my hand and found that the blush is very smooth and glides very easily onto the skin. I am in love with the color, it’s a peachy blush, that will be perfect for the upcoming warm months. I am looking forward to wearing this blush, I have had good impressions so far with Ofra Cosmetics.

IMG-4182

Meech And Mia Eyeshadow in Copper

This loose pigment eyeshadow reflects a coppery golden magical color. The eyeshadow gives full pigment to the eyes, with this lustrous hue . The shade most definitely calls out my attention, however I have been receiving a copper/bronze shimmer eyeshadows and highlights in almost all of my previous bags. I really wished there were more matte shades given out in the glam bags, because I wear mattes way more than shimmery shades.

Beau Gâchis Tapered Blending Eyeshadow Brush

This sleek brush is simple yet elegant, and perfect to use while blending in your transition shade. The site claims that their bristles are a mix of natural animal hair and synthetic hair, but their products are cruelty-free (which is a little confusing). However, the brush itself is pretty thin and very soft, I am willing to do more research on the brand and give this brush a try.  Fun fact, Beau Gâchis is actually  French for “Beautiful Mess”.

March Empties/Favorites | 2018

Hey guys, today’s post will be my first ever Empties/Favorites, this will be for March! I will go through products that I happened to finish this past month or that I’m about to finish, and through the way I will state if I would repurchase.  Although I do not have many products that will be featured on today’s post, I am hoping that this gives you insight on products I recommend worth a try.

Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It Two-Minute T-Zone Detox Scrub

Description of the Product – I cannot express how much I love this face scrub, this is literal magic in a tube. This was honestly the most used face wash/scrub I have ever gotten, because I love it that much! This detox face scrub removes dirt and all impurities from the face, while exfoliating and removing all the dead skin from the surface of the face. This blue exfoliant delivers a fresh clean feeling to the skin with the help of the natural superfruit Yuzu and D-Clog Microderm-Mud. The exfoliation is not rough whatsoever, it’s mild, and I highly recommend for my oily-combination peeps. I seriously notice a difference in my face after I use this, specifically my pores appearance on my nose, they are literally visibly gone and that’s the absolute best part of this face scrub. I only use it once a day (usually when I shower), if you use it more than once than it may dry out the skin.

March Favorite? – Definitely!

Would I Repurchase? – Yes, of course! I just bought my 2nd one a few days ago! Get it from Target, it’s well worth your money ($10.99).

Yes to Naturals Ultra Moisture Conditioner: Coconuts

Description of the Product – Okay so I am nearly done with this product after months of having it. I did enjoy this silky conditioner, infused with virgin coconut oil and argan oil. It’s very moisturizing and in my opinion a little goes a long way. The conditioner is about 97% natural and helps strengthens hair. Lately I have been having the worst knots in my hair, so bad that one knot will not go away (if you know something to get rid of knots that also happens to be cruelty free then please help a sista out). Anyways this conditioner gets the job down, however it has not gotten through the stubborn knots.

March Favorite? – Yes.

Would I Repurchase? –  I’m not sure if I would purchase this one, but I just bought the Yes to Calming Scalp Relief Shampoo with Tea Tree & Sage Oil, so I’d like to try out the conditioner as well!

Yes to Cucumber Micellar Water

Description of the Product – Another Yes to product happens to be, this soothing cucumber micellar water that I have been using for quite some time. I am not completely done with this, however I am near the end. The calming water is great to use when removing makeup or cleansing any dirt off your face, that requires no rinsing. This was a life changer on some of my lazy days of removing makeup. I would typically pump some onto a cotton pad and then with a few swipes, your face becomes instantly fresh and clean. The bottle is very convenient, the pump is easy to use, you open the lid and push down a few times to pump out the micellar water on the cotton pad. Another benefit about this micellar water compared to others is that it happens to be 95% natural!

March Favorite? – Yes, I also started using the Yes to Charcoal Micellar Water, and I have been loving it!

Would I Repurchase? – Maybe, I do really like this micellar water, however I might have a new favorite like the one I mentioned up ahead! (Stay tuned for a possible review or another favorite later on). 😉

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara: Mini Sized

Description of the Product – This is a such an amazing mascara and usually high end mascaras never exceed my expectations, but this one sure does! A few months back, I had received this in my Ipsy Glam Bag, and boy I’m glad I did. Not only is this mascara cruelty-free, it also happens to be vegan! The 4-in-1 Mascara claims to “curl, volumize, and condition your lashes” and I really think it does all of the above. The intense black color hyphens the lashes making them appear voluminous while protecting them as well.

March Favorite? – Yes for sure!

Would I Repurchase? – Yes! I am nearly done with my mini size and I just purchased the full size of mascara, in the beginning of Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale.

Okay all thank you for reading, hopefully you enjoyed this post and it was beneficial to you! I will probably do a monthly favorites/empties post every other month, and maybe also incorporate lifestyle favorites as well!

Spring DIY Projects///2018

Hi everyone, I am finally getting around to my Spring DIY projects post! I worked really hard on making these diy’s so I hope you all love them. I also thought it would be fun to show you all a time lapse of my process making these diy’s, hopefully the videos turned out well (this is my first time, lol). These projects are very inexpensive and super cute, not much is required, and they are not difficult at all. There are a perfect way to spring up your living space this Spring/Summer. Without further or do, let’s jump into the fun.

Cute Succulent Plant Pots

Materials Needed:

  • Terra cotta pots (2)
  • Succulents or plants of your choice
  • Martha Stewart Metallic Gold Paint
  • Patio paint in the color of your choice (Blue Bahama)
  • Foam Brush/Paint brush
  • Painter’s tape
  • Newspaper
  • Stones or pebbles for planting

Instructions for Painting Pots:

  1. Start by pouring the color paint of your choice to paint your first coat on your pot. (I used a foam brush first, however I switched to a regular brush after the foam brush was not giving the pot full paint coverage.
  2. After painting about 2 coats, you want to set aside your pots to air dry for awhile, about 20-30 minutes.
  3. Begin choosing your design, I highly recommend Pinterest for ideas! (I first tried to complete a gold triangle on on side, however when I put the masking tape on, it was not fully dried and chipped off a bit of paint. So I improvised and just used two index cards to create a sleek triangle look.)
  4. Take the second color of your choice, in this case it was gold for me. I just began painting the triangle area until coated. (This paint was not as full coverage as I expected, however I did end up liking the marbleized look it gave the pot.)
  5. For your second pot, repeat steps 1-3, either making the same design as the other or choosing a different style. (I first did polka-dots, but I did not like it as much, so I then painted it silver, adding a gold triangle pattern on the rim of the pot.)
  6. Let them fully dry for about a day, resisting any moisture. Then on the following day you may begin to plant them.

Instructions on Planting Succulents:

  1. Once both your pots have completely dried, you can begin to plant them. Start of by pouring in about half an inch of your pebbles into the pot.
  2. Then  take out your succulent (I recommend it to be pre-planted in which most come in, so that you don’t need other soil).
  3. Once I place my plant inside, I spray some water to moisten the soil a bit, pushing down the soil all round the sides to elevate it a bit.
  4. I go in with another few sprays of water to hydrate the soil since it was dry.
  5. Once I get the plant into a straight-up position, I put the black stones all around near the top to equal out the soil level, (the pebbles are good for soil drainage since the roots of succulents do not to well in water).
  6. Lastly, spray your plants with a few squirts of water to hydrate them one last time. (Succulents really should only be watered once a week or once they are dry to the touch).

Easy Spring Flower Wreath

Materials Needed:

  • Grapevine Wreath
  • Faux Flowers (of your choice)
  • Glue gun
  • Floral Wire Cutters
  • Twine or string
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Start by collecting the flowers you’re planning on using, then using the floral wire cutters, cut them however short you’d like them.
  2. Gather all your floral pieces, then rearrange them however you’d like on the wreath.
  3. After warming up your hot glue gun, begin to glue either on the floral pieces or the grapevine, then placing your piece down, making sure to apply pressure to the glued area.
  4. Continue to repeat Step 3, until you are satisfied with the way it’s looking.
  5. Lastly, cut a piece of twine, begin wrapping it at the top of the wreath, then hot gluing it down, and then cut another piece repeating the same step, until it is fully covered on top.
  6. Your flower wreath is then ready for display!

Okay so the next one isn’t necessarily a DIY, however it’s a little area that you can create in your room or living space to bring some relaxing vibes and zen into your life. My zen area happens to be on top of my bookshelf and on it I have various Buddha’s to look for spiritual guidance at times, plants for some freshness, and my cute candle. It’s very simple and does not require too much, make it however you’d like. Down below I will state what I have in my area and where everything is from.

Cute Little Zen Display:

  • Geometric Terrarium- Michael’s Craft Store
  • Pebbles inside terrarium- Michael’s Craft Store
  • Real Succulent Plant- (Any Garden Center/store)
  • Faux Succulent Plant Holder- Michael’s Craft Store
  • Buddha’s-various places/mostly in Chinatown.
  • Small Candle- Anthropologie
  • Ceramic (candle) trays- Little boutique (can be found at Homegoods)
