My Inflight Travel Essentials & Go-to Traveling Tips

Hello beauties, I’m back with another post today! I apologize for not posting this past week, it was such a hectic week, however I finished all my classes, so now I have more time to blog! I am so excited for my upcoming posts; I recently came back from my Seattle trip, and have some pretty exciting travel posts for you all coming up soon. For today’s post, I am going to be telling you some of my on-flight essentials and my go-to tips for traveling. Hopefully these are as beneficial to you, as they were to me.

Let’s start off with my in-flight essentials, shall we.  These flight essentials are always in my carry-on, to make sure I always have my necessities with me at all times.

Travel Essentials 

#1 Neck Pillow

Okay seriously a neck pillow is a must for any flight, especially those long few hour flights that seem to dread. This was my first trip, that I actually brought a neck pillow with me, and let me just say this is a game changer for flying. They make seating so much more comfortable, preventing your neck from cramping up. I highly recommend purchasing one from Five below, Tj Maxx, or Target for an inexpensive price.

#2 Headphones & Charger

They worse feeling ever is realizing that your on a plane and you forgot your headphones…. Most airlines have some for purchase, but in my honest opinion they are very uncomfortable with the cheap material they are made of. Who also wants a completely charged phone on the plane? ✋ Make sure to always keep your phone charger in a convenient area in your carry-on. So do yourself a favor and save yourself some trouble and just do not forget your headphones and phone charger.IMG-4977

#3 Facial Spray or Toner

Seriously this is another must-bring flight  necessity! My favorite spray to bring is pretty much any of the Mario Badescu facial sprays [on this trip I brought the lavender facial mist}, they give your face a refresher and sometimes a face boost. On previous trips, I’ve brought the Lush Tea Tree Toner Water Mist, it works just as good. Facial mists help get rid of the dryness in airplane air, but also that oil residue on your face. Also, if you tend to get oily skin like me, then spray a few squirts onto your face, then oil blot your face for this rejuvenated feeling.

#4 Things that will keep you occupied

Pretty self-explanatory right? Always make sure to bring something, whether it’s a book, some homework, a laptop, coloring book, or whichever is something that you can do. I personally am not a big sleeper on flights, so I prefer to keep myself busy with some of the things mentioned above. A little tip is to head out to your local library right before your trip, to check out some books you would be interested reading on your flight, (the bonus is that it’s free!) I also know that more airlines now have free entertainment through your phone or tablet, which is awesome, cause you could watch some cool movies.IMG-4976

That completes most of my travel essentials, (of course I have more, but then this would be a long post, therefore I keep it to the go-to’s). Next up are some of my basic travel tips, to help make your flight a little less chaotic than it already is.

Traveling Tips

  1. Keep an extra outfit in your Carry-on: I cannot stress this enough, it is extremely important to always have an extra pair of clothes! Long story short: Last January as I was traveling home from Puerto Rico (through a connecting flight); a flight attendant sent my {checked-in} bag to a different location than where I was going, and I was stuck with no fresh clothes that whole day of traveling. 😡 It was awful, because it took so much traveling to get home and I felt gross and they shipped my bag to my house like 5 days later, so it was extremely annoying and I learned my lesson to always bring an extra pair of clothes, (also can be if something spills on you or your uncomfortable in what you’re wearing).
  2. Pack two dryer sheets in your suitcase: You will thank me later on for this. I highly recommend packing two dryer sheets in between your clothes, this will help them stay fresh and smell great for both clean and dirty clothes!
  3. Pack an empty tote/recycled bag in your suitcase: I brought a Trader Joe’s tote bag to Seattle, and it really came in handy when I went shopping at Pike Place Market. It’s the perfect size and especially good to put any little treats or souvenirs you buy throughout your trip, that can be taken as a carry-on!
  4. Organize and plan your outfits ahead: Sounds easy enough, but I find it incredibly easier when I have my exact top/pants/ and undergarment, folded all in one place together.
  5. Pack what you know you will need & use: This past trip, I made it a point to just pack what I really needed. I always tend to overpack, and it helped tremendously to have a packing list to refer to. I saved myself time from packing/unpacking things I know, I wouldn’t use.

Ten of my Holy-grail Skincare Tips//2018

Hey guys, sorry I have not posted since Thursday, I was quite busy this weekend and was unsure on what I should post. I am still unsure on what my posting days should be, so let me know what days you want me to post down below! So today’s post will be short and sweet, with ten of my holy grail skin care tips for healthy + clear skin!

  1. Make sure to either wash or clean your face before going to bed: Washing your face before bed is extremely beneficial for clear skin and helps prevent breakouts. By washing your face at night, you remove all the dirt, sebum, and oil on your face from the day. If you have are lazy, use micellar water or toner to at least cleanse the skin.
  2. Always keep your face moisturized: This way your skin gives a youthful glow and keeps it feeling silky. (See Winter Skin Essentials\\\2018)
  3. Drink Water to stay hydrated: Okay honestly, I know many get annoyed when people say to have nice skin is just drink water, but it is so true. Your skin has a pale yellow tone to it when you are dehydrated and your lips are extremely chapped, trust me drinking water will give your face a lively rosy flush to your face.
  4. Do not touch your Face: This is such a big violation in my skin care rules. Touching your face throughout the day will cause breakouts, especially because half the time you have probably touched something very germy and are then going to apply the same bacteria onto your face…. no just please no. If you really need to touch your face, then wash your hands before and then after again.
  5. DO NOT pick at your Pimples: Similarly, to not touching your face comes my next point of avoiding to pop/pick at your pimples! I cannot stress this enough, every time that I have picked at a pimple, it just lead to either more breakouts or scarring so please just resist the urge to pick at it. Now if you do want to pop a pimple, this is the best way to approach it; either using a cotton swab or round, dip rubbing alcohol onto the tip and apply to the problem area. The alcohol will kill the bacteria in the pimple also causing it to deflame the surrounding skin. This always works very well for when I have a stubborn pimple, then I follow it with witch hazel across my face. (I would only recommend trying this for a few stubborn pimples, not all over the face, since the alcohol is harsh and will dry your skin out).
  6. Keep a constant routine: Everyone’s mostly got their own routine, and well of course it’s good to try out new products every so often, but once you find skin products that work for you, keep it a constant routine this way, your skin does not become irritated or breakout when exposed to new products.   7. Avoid putting your phone against your cheeks: Phones are some of the grossest things we come in contact with daily and when you put it against your cheeks or ear, that spreads the bacteria from your phone onto your face, causing breakouts! Yuck!🤢
  8. Be makeup free at least once a week: If you wear makeup everyday try to take a day off at least once a week to let your skin breathe.
  9. Do a face mask at least once a week: Doing a face mask helps improve the quality of your skin, and if it does not then switch to another mask. So treat your skin to whatever it is lacking, such as moisturization, exfoliation, or a glow!
  10. Make sure to apply SPF to your face: SPF is probably one of the most important things to do to your skin to prevent aging and wrinkles. Protect your skin from the sun and apply some sort of SPF it will help tremendously. So whether your daily moisturizer has it or you need to apply a sunscreen after, just do it to protect your face.

Planning February 2018 Tips//Plan with Me

It seems that January is one of the longest yet quickest months, if that makes sense. As crazy as it is, February is tomorrow! Today’s post will be on some tips for the month of February and I how I plan out my month in my planner.

For starter’s, I made it a goal of mine to become more organized and have a planner with me throughout the year, so far it’s going pretty well, but this past week I was slightly slacking off. However, for the new month I am glad to pick up my routine of planning back. First, let us start with my key planning tips to provide a successful start to the new month.

Purchase a cute planner and Stationary Supplies:

  • For me personally this is a huge one, I find that have a cute planner instead of a plain old boring one will help you be more motivated to use it. I recommend the brand “Create 365: The Happy Planner” from Michael’s Craft Store they have a variety of appealing planners, and the absolute best planner stickers, but do not worry if you cannot get your hands on this one, there are many other ones out there that are just as acceptable.
  • Make it personal, decorate your planner with washi tape, make it bright and colorful with pens or markers, and put in planner stickers to help personalize your planner. I recommend heading to Michael’s, Target, or the dollar store to get cute stationery supplies for cheap. 
  • If you cannot go out and buy these supplies, do not worry because you can improvise and make your own planner with what you have.

Set a least one Monthly Goal or more if you desire:

  • If you were to set one new goal at the start of the month, and have it inside of your planner as a reminder, I am positive that you will achieve that goal by the end of the month. This could be a goal that’s as small as, “read any new book” or as large as “applying for a new job”, make it your desirable goal. For example, my goal for the month of January was to “start my blog”, and look where I am now, posting my 10th blog post!
  • My monthly goal for February will be to read a new book and finish it because I never do and to also finish one whole course of my online class. This month is about finishing what I started 😉!

Create a Monthly Mantra & Theme:

  • If you are unsure what a Mantra is, it is a word/phrase/or statement repeated frequently that you establish and live through. These are incredibly important when you need to be constantly reminded of something, and I do not mean something you plan, it’s more of a reassurance statement for example a mantra that I know is popular is, “You can get through this”. Make your mantra personal, to what best suits you or what you think you need to hear often. This mantra should be throughout your planner, on a post-it note, on your phone, and even your refrigerator.
  • Onto my next point which is establishing a theme for the month. This may sound a bit silly, but having a theme for a month will help incorporate your goal and mantra into your life. I also find that when having a monthly theme, planning becomes more substantial.
  • My theme for the month of February is Love/feeling loved/loving others, shocker right. I decided since Valentine’s Day is in the middle of the month, I will have Love as my central theme of this month.

Try to have a routine of something everyday:

  • You may be thinking well, I already have a routine everyday, but what I mean is trying to bring a new habit into your life, making it a routine for at least a month. These are just a few common examples; meditation daily, working out for at least an hour each day, or even praying. These are almost like small goals to make a part of your daily routine. Mine for the month of January was to “Practice Gratitude: by stating three things each day that I am grateful for”, (credits to my amazing therapist who gave me this assignment).
  • For the month of February I will continue my Gratitude practice along with mindful journaling everyday this month (I love to journal and I recently bought a new journal with mindful prompts).

What I do to first get started, is to go through the calendar on my phone, since that is where I keep all my important dates/appointment reminders. As a disclaimer, my planner is not as filled as I wanted it to be. I only planned my events in my planner calendar, hopefully for next month’s post I will show you how I plan my week.
